The coolest Griffin you ever did see
Found this guy sitting above the mantel in the pub. What a cool hat!

Things are starting to happen out in our patio veg patch! Yes, those pretty pink things are potato flowers.
I thought it was about time I posted some more photos of our garden, as it’s been a while.
The potatoes are going great guns, and we’ve got a variety of beans on the way too. Tomatoes, carrots and lettuce all doing well, as are the courgettes. The chillis are looking a bit sorry for themselves, especially as they’re getting a bit slug eaten. I’ve had to make a few slug-killing expeditions to keep them under control.
Today, Elly and I had a bit of a tidy up in the garden, in advance of Mum bringing us a load of pots and containers next weekend. The seedlings on the windowsill are going great guns, so we’ll need those containers soon!
Yesterday I took a trip with my other half and some friends to Stourhead, possibly the most photogenic of all the National Trust’s properties. The lighting was perfect, and Simon and I had great fun with our DSLRs while the girls left us to it. I finally got round to trying out my tripod, so I had to have a go at some High Dynamic Range imaging, and thought I’d share some of the results.
HDR involves combining several photos of the same scene with different exposures in such a way that no part of the scene is over- or under-exposed. The resulting images can look quite unnatural, but can look quite beautiful nonetheless if processed with skill (I make no assertions about my own skill level). I look forward to exploring this a bit more, especially now I’ve found qtpfsgui, an open-source, cross-platform app to produce HDR images — it used to be necessary to spend a lot of money on Photoshop or something similar.
